Why personal Development and what inspired you to start?
Richard T
London,UK.
ANSWER
I think passion. I am very passionate about
women and youth empowerment, leadership development, and motivating others to be
their best. I always had and still have big
dreams for my life.
I
believe that from a young age the exposure to resources and opportunities
engulfed me and shaped who I am. I realised quite early my passion for
helping, serving humanity and being able to lead was a unique trait for
me. I also have a burning desire to make a difference, to use my opportunities
and resources to give back and the other is my purpose. I realized that I
cannot run or hide from my God given purpose and I must do all that I can so at
the end of the day every talent and skill that I have been blessed with will be
used in a positive and impactful way. I also understand that to whom much is
given much is required.
While growing up I was fortunate to attend seminars and read books that motivated me. I never thought I will eventually take this up as career. I remember this particular seminar in 1998, which was one of the most inspiring in my life. A young graduate doing her project came over from the US to coach us (myself and my High school mates) about our personal development. I loved every bit of it. It changed my life positively. At that moment, I saw myself heading toward the same career path even though somewhat different from hers. Another was September 2009, after attending 'Rich dad, Poor dad' seminar/workshop in London.I had never been motivated like this all my lifetime. It moved me immediately and arose the opportunity to start something I love. I dreamed of a program that will help and mentor young people deal with their fears, issues like self esteem and helping them Succeed at their very best.I am hoping to take this to another level as an added professional career.

QUESTION
ANSWER
The main issues facing women and girls today worldwide
are: access to education, overcoming cultural constraints and breaking their boundaries.
In the UK, many young women have the opportunity to attend school and benefit
from free education but this is not the case in many countries around the
world. Girls are undervalued when compared to their male counter-parts who are mainly
chosen to attend to school. I-we are working to change this to ensure that
culture, politics and religion are not obstacles to the development of the
girl-child in receiving her education and given an opportunity to make
something out of herself. There are so many restricting boundaries still there
but women globally have been breaking it gradually. We need to make sure that young
women are groomed and prepared to break their boundaries or limits.

QUESTION
Do you plan to incorporate men?
ANSWER
Men appear to be missing from gender and development.
However, emerging critiques suggest the need to pay more attention to
understanding men and to analysing the social relationships between men and
women. It won’t be balanced if we develop young women and girls and leave the
men out. There’s a rise in social issues like rape, domestic violence, child
marriage, discrimination and many more. These issues involve both sexes. We
have to raise our boys to treat women with respect and be responsible and women
to do the same. So yes I plan to incorporate young boys in the future. I’ll be
working with a few male clients to design projects focused on leadership and
personal development for young men.

ANSWER
My advice to all young
people is to believe in yourself. No matter what challenges you face, your
destiny is bigger than your situation. Always surround yourself with positive
people, people you admire and those who can uplift you. Find your passion, Dare
to dream big, Keep the dream alive, don’t give up.And finally, there is a great quote that I love to share with young people by Mary Kay Ash. It says.
